Checklist: Documents You'll Need for Buyer ID & Credit Review

Business documents checklist for Sinosure application

Getting your Sinosure Buyer ID is the first step to accessing 90-120 day payment terms from Chinese suppliers. The application process is straightforward, but having the right documents ready can significantly speed up approval. Here's your complete checklist.

Required Documents for All Applicants

1. Business Registration Documents

Certificate of Incorporation, Articles of Organization, or equivalent business formation documents showing your company is legally registered.

2. Tax Identification Number (EIN/TIN)

Your company's federal tax ID number. For US companies, this is your EIN from the IRS.

3. Financial Statements (Last 2 Years)

Balance sheets and income statements. Audited statements are preferred but not always required for smaller companies.

4. Bank Reference Letter

A letter from your bank confirming your account standing and banking relationship. Most banks can provide this within 1-2 business days.

5. Trade References

Contact information for 2-3 current suppliers who can verify your payment history and business relationship.

6. Company Profile

A brief overview of your business including products/services, years in operation, number of employees, and annual revenue.

7. Authorized Signatory Information

Passport or government ID for the person authorized to sign on behalf of the company, plus proof of authorization (board resolution or similar).

Additional Documents (If Applicable)

  • Import/Export License: If required in your jurisdiction for the products you're importing.
  • Recent Purchase Orders: Copies of recent POs with Chinese suppliers to demonstrate active trade relationships.
  • Credit Reports: Business credit reports from Dun & Bradstreet or similar agencies (helpful but not mandatory).

Document Preparation Tips

  • 1.Organize in PDF format: Scan all documents clearly and save as PDFs with descriptive filenames.
  • 2.Translate if needed: Some documents may need English translations if originally in another language.
  • 3.Keep copies: Maintain digital and physical copies of all submitted documents for your records.
  • 4.Update regularly: Financial statements and bank letters should be recent (within 6 months).

Timeline & What to Expect

Once you submit your complete application with all required documents:

  • Days 1-3: Initial review and document verification
  • Days 4-10: Credit assessment and reference checks
  • Days 11-21: Final approval and Buyer ID issuance
